6th grade walked with Kindergarten to the Senior Center to sing Christmas Carols and give out Christmas cards last week.

United Bay Community Credit Union very recently joined our community and immediately reached out to the district to ask what they could do to support updating the old scoreboards, which served us well for many years. Last Friday, we were excited to unveil our brand new gym scoreboards, generously and entirely paid for by United Bay! With their donation, nothing has come out of the pockets of our community to finance this project.
These boards will be used for volleyball, wrestling, and basketball throughout the year and assist us in continuing to update the look of our Jr/Sr High gymnasium. A sincere thank you to United Bay Community Credit Union and its representatives for their support. Joining us from the UBCCU team that evening was Diane Abbonizio, Doug Kelly, Kerri Singley, Jen Shelby, Mackenzie Shelby, Leslie Webb, and Jayna Hafelein. A special thank you to Emily Burgess who was not able to be here that night, for her tremendous efforts and support to make this happen. Thank you all!

Mrs. Shumaker's 9th grade class is acting out Romeo and Juliet for a fun and engaging lesson! The students are loving it!

Congrats to Joseph Vansickle for getting his first Turkey (3 strikes in a row) during bowling practice last week! Way to go, "Jotatochip!"

Even bus 19K got all spruced up for the Christmas parade last Saturday! Who else thinks we should keep our buses decked out like this all year?!

Congratulations to Tyler Germain, Comet Alumni, who has been hired as the 7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach! Tyler has been serving as the interim coach during the hiring process, volunteered to help the team last year and we appreciate that he has been willing to support the teams. Please help make him feel welcome!

Recently, Drama Club students went to a Theatre and Dance Day at Central Michigan University where they could participate in workshops on acting, voice, props and costumes. They got to meet members of the cast of the Fall production of Cabaret, and get to know other theater majors at the University. We love to see our Comets building skills and being proactive!

Students at the Jr/Sr High and Elementary participated in making bulletin boards for kindness week. Great job, Comets! (Quilt is at the J/S High and leaves are at the Elementary).
