4/14 Meet Day

Spring sports 2026 have started well for the Comets! Softball is 4-0 with victories over McBain and Vestaburg. Klaira Sysak led the way in game 1 against the Wolverines with a triple and her first home run of the year, inside-the-park style, to go with 5 RBIs. In game 2, Sysak added 5 more RBIs to go with Hannah McCann's 6.

Baseball started well with 2 wins over Saginaw Arts and Sciences and a split with Vestaburg. In game 1 against Vestaburg, Aden Aultman was dominant with 11 strikeouts for the win. Against the Dragons from SASA, Zane Lytle was the run producer with 8 RBIs on the day.

JH Track traveled to Beaverton on Friday and had a great showing. Jonas Shea was third in the 100 and 400, Chase Moore was fourth in the 1600, while Boss Bowman was second in the long jump. The girls were dominant on the day, with Olivia Crafard winning the 100m, 55m hurdles, and the long jump. Sophie Ellison was second in the long jump and won the 400m and 1600m.

High School Track faced some stiff competition in Clare. Alex Lyon and Gage Lawrence were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the pole vault, while Dominic Lawrence was seventh in the long jump. Olivia Hegel was ninth in the high jump and long jump, with Bailey Gates right behind her in the long jump in tenth.

It's early in the season, and we are expecting some great things from our Comets this spring.

Mrs. Lynchโ€™s 6th grade class has been spending the last couple of months learning about force and motion โš™๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

Today, all that learning was put to the test in the annual egg drop ๐Ÿฅšโฌ‡๏ธ Teams used their knowledge to design the best contraption to keep their egg safe ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿง

And the results? 5 out of 6 eggs made it! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅš

Absolutely Incredible Kid Day
Earlier this month, students from the Beaverton STEAM class visited the Coleman Agriscience program to learn how they can develop a partnership wherein they will create plastic items for use in the greenhouse. They brought samples of containers that they are in the process of developing and producing and conducted research as to what containers would suit our program needs the best.

They assessed the various containers the greenhouse program uses to determine how they can produce them but also touched on questions regarding sustainability, durability and recycling. Program instructor Scott Wicke is excited for the potential regarding the relationship, saying "Not only would we like to see how the students can create containers, but we'd like to discover other ways they can design and create tools and other products Coleman can use."

As a part of their visit, the Beaverton students were able to propagate some souvenir plant cuttings and place them in the containers they brought with them while learning about the greenhouse operations. Coleman Agriscience students will be conducting a reciprocal visit to Beaverton in the coming weeks to discover how their process is conducted.

Recognition Day for our amazing paraprofessionals is TOMORROW! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ

Think about all of the things they do for our students and all of us dailyโ€”regulating kids, keeping schedules on track ๐Ÿ“…, providing accommodations, supporting sensory needs ๐Ÿง , guiding student work and behavior throughout the building, assisting teachers (and sneaking in those much-needed bathroom breaks ๐Ÿ˜‰), offering a smiling face ๐Ÿ˜Š, making us laugh ๐Ÿ˜‚โ€ฆ and so much more. ๐Ÿ’™

Now, what can you do to officially recognize them?
A small token of appreciation ๐ŸŽ, a quick stop to say thank you in person ๐Ÿ™Œ, or a note sharing a specific way theyโ€™ve supported you โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ’Œ?

Thank you to our incredible paraprofessionals who are so many things to so many people! ๐ŸŒŸWe appreciate you and the countless ways you pivot throughout the day to meet student needs and support every classroom. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ“šHave a fantastic dayโ€”you deserve it! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‘

Congratulations to our March Employees of the Month, Cindy Araway and Kaleigh Boggs! ๐ŸŽ‰

These recognitions begin with staff nominations, with final selections made by the Boardโ€”and this monthโ€™s honorees truly shine.

Cindy goes above and beyond every day for her students, staff, and the district. She leads with heartโ€”checking in on others even outside of work hours, offering support however itโ€™s needed, and creating a true sense of family within her building. Her care and dedication do not go unnoticed! ๐Ÿ’™

Kaleigh was nominated for her incredible commitment to building strong connections with students. In just one day, she encouraged a reluctant student to get involved, supported academic improvement, helped resolve another student concern, assisted families with the FAFSA process, and still managed her regular responsibilitiesโ€”all while checking in on a student who was ill. Her impact is wide-reaching and deeply appreciated! ๐ŸŒŸ

As Employees of the Month, Cindy and Kaleigh receive a reserved parking space, the traveling Employee of the Month trophy, and, of course, well-earned bragging rights for the month! ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ†

Thank you both for the care, dedication, and positivity you bring to our district each dayโ€”we are grateful for you!
