Our high school runners will be off on Friday to run in the MHSAA Regionals at Shepherd High School. The event time has been adjusted and the Boys will be running at 2:00 pm and the girls will be at 3:00 pm.
Parking for Spectators: They are asking you to take 2nd Street to get to a parking lot, DO NOT park in the lot closest to school as they will still be in session, and DO NOT come down 4th Street.
You will need to use GoFan for tickets or you can use a credit card at the event. $8 per person.
There will also be live stream available on NFHS.
Ms. B’s 5th graders earned extra recess for meeting their attendance goal for September! Way to go, Comets! #LEADLikeAComet
☄️ To Mrs. Amie Zylman, who helped wrangle 55 students from the drama club to put on an outstanding Haunted School. They were able to bring in 315 community members to see not only the show, but our new facilities. It was an amazing night for everyone. I heard from multiple people that the "littles" felt they had to come because they were personally invited to the show, which convinced some grandparents and parents to get them here. The board also mentioned that Amie was amazing amidst all of the chaos of the evening.
☄️ To Mr. Scott Rodenbo, Mr.Jesse Kalitta and his "lion" (dog), Oscar, Mr. Joshua Sampson, Ms. Allison Klykken, IGNITE team members, and any other staff members who were there that evening whom they didn't recognize (after all, it was a Haunted School, and people were dressed up).
☄️ To Coach Courtney Niederquill and Coach Laken Berthume for getting the junior high girls' basketball team set up and ready to practice as we search for a coach.
We enjoyed celebrating the volleyball careers of our three seniors: Bailey, Sydney, and Hannah. Along with the celebration of our senior athletes, we got to celebrate a three game sweep of The Baldwin Panthers for the Comet Victory!
One last regular season date on the calendar as the Comets JV & Varsity will travel to Saginaw on Thursday to take on the Cardinals of Michigan Lutheran Seminary.
We will still be playing the varsity contest with an adjusted start time of 6:00 pm.
Senior night will still take place before warm-ups. Thank you for your understand and adjustments on late notice.
Monday night is Senior Night for the Comet Volleyball Team as they take on Baldwin High School with the JV starting at 5:30. The team would love to have a packed house to support all their efforts, and the four years of hard work our seniors have put in on the court.
Our Cross Country Team is at the MHSAA tournament level, as they will be running in the MHSAA Regional at Shepherd on Friday. The Friday night lights will have a different looks as our cross runners will be looking to continue to push for more PRs!

Board of Education President, Mrs. Lorie Fox, and Trustee, Mr. Sean Long, recently spent an evening at the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Delegate Assembly.
Fox is a voting member of the Delegate Assembly, and Long was interested in learning more about it. The Coleman Board members voted to have each of them represent at the assembly this year.
Fox and Long had opportunities to advocate for our district, participate in debate and vote on resolutions that provide direction for MASB directors and legislators. There are 178 districts from 53 counties in Michigan which also provides an opportunity to network with other school board members.
