A tremendous thank you to Mrs. Karen Bressette, who has spent many years as a member of the Coleman Schools' Board of Education, most recently as the Board Treasurer and serving on the Board Finance/Facilities Committee. Karen has recently stepped down from the Board, and in her words, "I have learned so much and have felt it was such a meaningful way to serve my community. I am proud of the work that has been done these last years to take our school to the next level, with research and evidence-based practices. I will always be grateful for the experience." Karen has been a strong supporter of what is best for all students, with additional background in that which serves students with special needs. Each year she has continued her interest in learning about the finances, laws and duties of a Board of Education member. A sincere thank you, Karen, for your many years of service and care for our students, families and staff.

The trip to Traverse City tonight for those going to Bowling Regionals is also a go! Good luck Comets!

Tonight's boys basketball games with Harrison have been cancelled. They will be unable to travel. We will look at possible options for next week.
Practices are also canceled for today due to concerns with students/families driving on the backroads.
Hopefully a lot of salt and sun this afternoon will get us ready for tomorrow!

Coleman Schools will be closed for Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, due to current road conditions, continued rain and temperatures decreasing to the low 20s overnight. We will provide information on Wednesday evening events and practices closer to noon tomorrow.
This is in contrast to today. Several of us begin looking at/driving roads, many times the night before, and around 4-5:30 a.m. the morning of school. We are in contact with the County Road Commission on timing of their work, reviewing forecasts and talking with other area personnel and continue to monitor road conditions throughout the day. Temperatures were expected to rise throughout today, but instead began to take a dip just before noon.
I want to thank all Coleman families for making adjustments to your schedules earlier this afternoon when students were sent home. We appreciate your understanding and support to best ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Have a good evening and be safe if you are out tomorrow.

Coleman Schools will be closing at 1:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, February 22nd, due to worsening road conditions. All events and practices for this evening are cancelled. Please go slow and be safe.
