The Sanford American Legion Riders are hosting their annual ToyZ for KidZ dinner on December 3rd from 5-7 PM. Each dinner may be purchased with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy. You may also drop off any donations at the legion anytime between now and December 3rd, or contact them for other donation options. Please consider attending or bringing in toy donations to help kids in Midland County have a great holiday!


We would like to thank Veterans Glen Mogg and Patrick Murray for talking with our students about their honorable service to our country. They also shared about the opportunities available to students if they desire to serve their country one day. It was a great way to celebrate Veterans Day at Coleman Jr/Sr High!


Our freshmen learned all about the Midland County Youth Leadership program on Friday! Midland High juniors Emily and Bella did an excellent job explaining the benefits of being involved with MCYL, such as learning skills like leadership, public speaking, community involvement, and believing in yourself. The Midland County Health Department is holding a COVID vaccination clinic next week. Information on the clinic is below if you are interested.
Friday November 19th from 3-5 p.m. at the Auditorium and the JR/SR High School in Coleman, MI, entry through the far left-hand front doors. This clinic is for anyone 5-11 years of age.
This is absolutely voluntary and not required by the school. If you are interested in this vaccine for your child please fill out the attached registration form and bring it with you. It is at this link: https://5il.co/11vz0
Also please call the Elementary office 989-465-6179 to let us know that you will be coming with your child so that we have an accurate count for the Health Department.
The clinic will be set up in the Auditorium with registration area prior to walking in at the far left-hand front doors.
When you come in, please go to one of the chairs set up in the auditorium.
When your name is called, please go up to the stage where the Health Department staff will be.
Please remember following your shot, you need to remain for 15 more minutes to be observed for any side effects, so please take a seat during that time in the auditorium.

With the help of Mrs. Howdyshell and Mrs. Hess, MRS came by to share services with some of our seniors as they transition to other careers after graduation. Ginger Donoghue from MRS talked with them about their plans for next year and offered help with with college applications, FAFSA, providing funds, career training, job placement, providing more funds.

Attention Jr/Sr High Students! Tryouts for the Jr/Sr High School's upcoming production of the Wizard of Oz will be after school on Monday, November 8 from 3-5 PM. Callbacks will be on Tuesday from 3-4:30. We hope to see you there!

Effective today, Monday, October 25th, is the attached Order from the Midland County Health Department Director, Mr. Fred Yanoski.
We are proud to share that Coleman Schools has already been following all of the originally recommended protocols for COVID-19 with our students and staff.
In general, the Order doesn't change much for Coleman Schools. There are just a couple of points that will change:
1) We have to “disseminate, publish and post” the Order and for future reference you can find it on our website on the Homepage under the "COVID-19 Information" button;
2) Per CDC updated recommendations (dated 10-15-21), a vaccinated close contact will test on day 5 to 7 (previously 3 to 5) after exposure and can discontinue mask wearing with a negative test.

7th-12th grade LEADERS met with Mrs. Hess and Mrs. McCormack during seminar today. Any student from those grades who wanted to be part of the group was invited originally by Mrs. McCormack and wuite a few from each grade joined. They have big ideas and spent some time planning how they can impact not only themselves and their skills but others and their school in positive ways. In order to stay a part of this group, they are required to continue to better themselves and represent the school and themselves in positively at all times. They worked on brainstorming projects around school pride/spirit, activities, student jobs, positive feedback to build on everyone's success and upgrades among others. Students who barely know each other worked collaboratively together today. Next week- we put the ideas into action! Names of our LEADERS will be forthcoming.
