Coleman Prom King and Queen- Conner and Lexus!

Throwers don't often find themselves in running events larger than a 100 or 200 meter. This did not stop sophomore Matthew MacPhee from challenging himself to the two mile race at the Central Montcalm invite Friday. His determination was noticed by all in attendance, not just our Comet fans. Lap after lap he drew increasing encouragement, celebration, and eventually ecstasy as he powered his way through the run. Matt broke into a sprint for the finish line during the final 100 meters of the race, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Teams from over a dozen schools raced to meet him at the finish line. Matthew became a sensation as the celebrating crowd took pictures, begged for autographs, and joined in on the excitement of seeing someone push themselves to and past their limits. Congrats on your epic race, Matt! Pictured is the crowd still surrounding Matt a good while after his race ended.

Thanks for the pictures, Bianca! Looks like you all had at lot of fun at prom Saturday night. For anyone that would like to share their prom pictures (or any other exciting news!) to the website and to Facebook, remember to send them to pr@colemanschools.net.

It's official -- Skid Row is performing at the United By Sacrifice concert this year, coming up on May 29th, 2022! Check out this video to see what last year's concert was like, as well as to learn a way to win some free tickets for this year's show! https://youtu.be/wlv-0rKNndg Because of the overwhelming help from the community and many across the U.S., the concert committee was able to give monetary donations to several organizations including some of our school programs like The Sports Boosters, the Ag program, Drama club and Band. They are so grateful for all the volunteer support they've received through the school! Tickets for the event can be ordered here: https://www.colemanveteransmemorial.org/

Please welcome Ms. Quinci Butler, who will begin with us tomorrow. Ms. Butler is joining the district as a 1:1 professional with the flexibility to work with our students in either building. Quinci has been a paraprofessional in another district and has worked with students with special needs for many years in a variety of ways through to today. She has a positive energy level and genuine excitement for working in Coleman District with a variety of levels of students. Please help her to feel welcome!

Our Comet alumni, Luke Nehrig, was nominated by his college professor to present one of his SAP class projects in front of a panel of Dow representatives. The representatives then selected him for The Dow Chemical SAP Award of Excellence. This was to recognize excellence in SAP work, which is his field of study. He was then honored on April 22, 2022 at a luncheon held at the Buck’s Run Golf Club. Luke is set to Graduate from CMU on May 7th with a business degree in information systems. Go Luke! Congratulations!
