Check out the Senior Cookout at Mrs. Shumaker's! Julia and Acim, our foreign exchange students, had never roasted marshmallows before so we introduced them to this American tradition. Mr. Burkhart came and played music for the kids. We also had hamburgers/hot dogs on the grill and some great desserts.

Look who came back to volunteer at Coleman Elementary School! Welcome back to Mrs. Rachel Brownlee, former CES teacher turned FUMC Read to Lead Volunteer. We LOVE having you help us! Mrs. Brownlee is one of the volunteers from Faith United Methodist Church who has trained and is working with our students in reading. We greatly appreciate our the support of our volunteers like Mrs. Brownlee and feel extra appreciative that we've had her come back and see us! #LEADLikeAComet

Please welcome Mr. Bryan Willard to the Asst. Athletic Secretary position as Mrs. Bell retires. Mr. Willard is a retired teacher of 26 years having worked in secondary buildings. He has been retired a year and moved with his wife from the Walled Lake area. They've spent their time renovating a home. He's ready to get back to work and we're excited about that! Mr. Willard has spent time working in several offices before teaching and knows many of the platforms we use like Skyward. He has also been a football coach in previous years.
Please help Mr. Willard feel welcome to his new position. We are excited to have him with us. Mrs. Bell will be with us part time to help transition things over to him - thank you, Mrs. Bell!

Congrats to the October employees of the month! These awards are granted based on staff nominations; final decisions are made by the Board. These employees enjoy one month of parking in the reserved 'Employee of the Month' parking space at their building, one month of getting the 'Employee of the Month' trophy on their desk, and one month of bragging rights. Thanks for being outstanding employees! We appreciate your hard work and dedication to the district!

Check out the Don't Be Scared To Be You! event by Reach Out. Reach Out is a student organization that works to advocate for positive student mental health. Every month we have a theme that the group plans an event around. This month's theme was growing self-confidence! During lunch, students wrote something about themselves that made them confident on paper ghosts (in exchange for candy). The ghosts are pinned up on the bulletin board in the high school cafeteria and will be there until the end of November in case anyone wants to look! #LEADLikeAComet
