Weather permitting, St. Charles will be traveling to Coleman tomorrow. They will send both of their teams so we can hold our teams' Seniors Night. Only Varsity teams will play- Varsity Girls will start at 5:30 p.m. with Senior Night between games and Varsity Boys starting following. Information on any other events for tomorrow will be shared tomorrow if there are changes.

Welcome future Class of 2036! The elementary school is hosting its annual Kindergarten registration night coming up on Thursday, March 2nd. If you have a kiddo that will be ready for kindergarten next year, please consider stopping by to tour the school, meet some teachers/staff, and fill out paperwork to get them enrolled and ready for the 2023-2024 school year. All practices for this afternoon are cancelled. The Girls' JV/Varsity Basketball games against St. Charles are cancelled for today. Coaches and students going to Bowling Regionals will still be able to drive to Gaylord this afternoon to get ready for tomorrow's events. Most are driving with their parents. Families who choose to attend- please drive slowly and safely going to Gaylord today and best of luck!! Go Comets!

Coleman Schools will be closed Thursday, 2.23.2023, due to weather conditions. Information about afternoon events, evening events and practices will be posted by noon tomorrow. We will also give updated information as soon as we have it regarding Bowling Regionals. Please be safe and stay off the roads if at all possible.

Coleman Schools will be closed today due to the impending storm with high levels of snow expected along with ice and blowing/drifting possibilities. All afternoon and evening events are cancelled, including all practices.

Reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, 2.22.2023, is a 1/2 day for students in the morning only. Jr./Sr. High will run 5th, 6th and 7th hours. Both buildings will have lunch available to students before they leave. Jr./Sr. High students are out at 11:20 a.m. and Elementary at 11:30 a.m. The JH Boys Basketball game vs. St. Charles is cancelled for tomorrow due to the likely  impending weather and St. Charles will not be traveling. We will be watching the weather closely tomorrow morning and throughout the day as well as the rest of the week. Any necessary closings will be announced as early as possible to allow you to better plan. Updates for after school events will be posted on our website and Facebook. School closings will be sent via voicemail, Facebook, website and other typical news outlets.

The Coleman Elementary National Elementary Honor Society induction is rescheduled for Tuesday, February 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria.

Our Pledge Leaders tonight were Arrayah and Max! Thanks you two for being great leaders in your class and doing such a great job reciting the Pledge of Allegiance tonight! We enjoyed having you both here tonight.

Mrs. Kosinski's 4th grade class just learned how to identify genuine bills vs paper bills by close examination! They learned about the Federal/State government and who's responsible for printing money, and that unfortunately, we cannot print our own as much as we wish we could!

Inviting all parents of children with disabilities in the Midland area to join a free, confidential connection and support group. In this group, parents can get emotional support and practical advice from other parents who “get it” and break the cycle of isolation. Get help navigating educational choices, health care systems and even where to get your child’s hair cut. Whether your child is a newborn baby or an adult still needing support, this group is for you. Any and all disabilities, from low to high support needs, are welcome. The in-person group meets on Fridays 9:30-11:00, this is a drop in group so you are welcome to show up any Friday, and are not committed to attending regularly. Our online support group is available 24/7 for local parents to connect and share resources and seek help and advice. The in person group meetings will be led by Iris Mehler, a professional rehabilitation counselor with more than 20 years of experience working with adults and children with disabilities and their families. To join the online parents support group please write to: themidlandfridaygroup@gmail.com where you can also receive information about the in-person support group meeting location. Both online and in person groups are strictly for parent-caregivers and are not open to professionals, vendors and/or other community members.

The Boys JV/Varsity games with Carson City at home tonight are still on. The Cheer Team will travel to Marion as well for their competition. All HS practices will be voluntary; JH practices do not take place on inclement weather days.

The NEHS Induction Ceremony for this evening, Thursday, 2.16.2023, has been postponed due to road conditions. It will be rescheduled at a later date. We will continue to monitor road conditions this evening and tomorrow morning.

For Thursday, 2.16.2023 The JV/Varsity Girls Basketball Games in Carson City for tonight are cancelled and will be rescheduled due to weather in Carson City. SPARKS will continue for today. All practices after school for athletics and extra-curricular activities can continue.  The NEHS Induction in the Elementary will continue tonight.

Today we recognized our School Resource Officers (SROs), especially Deputy Brandan Hodges, who has been with us for several years now. Deputy Hodges has built relationships with students, staff and community members alike and provides a great deal of information and ideas to ensure the safety of our schools. He is a presence in our hallways, parking lots and at events. He takes the time to give feedback or make adjustments with us for even higher safety, helps guide students, has led numerous professional development sessions for staff, reviews our Emergency Operations Plan annually, creates safety training and attends many events on our behalf, among many other things. The amount of support he gives daily is of huge benefit and support to all that goes on in the district. We also recognize Deputies Jodye Streeter and Jason Brandt. Deputies Streeter and Brandt work in Meridian and Bullock Creek, respectively, but are available when the need arises just as Deputy Hodges does for their districts. They are just as supportive to Coleman as if they were our own SROs and are incredibly easy to work with.
