Finally, Spirit Week Friday with Red v Green Day at the Jr/Sr High! Mr. Baase had to double-check spacing as students posed for pictures.

The JH girls played their last game against Ashley on the same floor that the high school players use every day. They came out with another victory based on some solid defense and Treva Robinson's 24 points. Olivia Hegel defended the hoop with a number of blocks. Teagan Kennedy hit her first 3-pointer late in the game.

Boys' basketball traveled to Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart on Wednesday. The JV team continued their winning ways for another league victory. The varsity team ran into a team that hit 13 3-pointers but fought hard to keep it competitive. Jared DeVrieze had 12 points and 6 rebounds, with Logan Glazier tallying 6 points. They are back in action in Breckenridge tonight, with the JV starting at 5:30.

Back during Kindness Week, the Jr/Sr High had a door decorating competition! The winners were Mr. Francis (balloon door) and Mrs. Robison (turkey door) and they each won an ice cream float party for their classes. Nice work being kind, Comets! #LEADLikeAComet

A Chippewa Nature Center representative visited Mrs. Whittington's kindergarten class to teach about hibernation, migration, and adaptation.

One challange at Leadership Night November 21st was to Think Win-Win by working with a partner to get a ball into a cup using two other cups following some simple guidelines. We had several successful attempts!

Mrs. Pelletier's 3rd graders learned how difficult it was to be a Voyaguer, French explorer, or fur trader at the "Pelt to Felt" program at Chippewa Nature Center. They discussed period clothing, different jobs within the giant canoes, and "racing" to get furs to the trading post. They also learned the importance of the beaver pelt and other resources traded between the European explorers and the indigenoious people. The kids had a great time and staff are greatful to include these vaulable trips into the curriculum.

Jr/Sr High Christmas Character vs Christmas in Hawaii Day is lots of fun! Can you guess who is dressed for what?

Tonight is the Elementary School Christmas program, don't miss it!

Junior High Girls traveled to Vestaburg tonight and came out with two tough finals. The 7th graders were edged out by Vestaburg 21-16 and the 8th graders ended up outhustling them for a 22-18 victory. Brystal Berthume was a dynamo on both ends of the floor for the 8th graders with 16 of the 22 points and double-digit steals on the defensive end. Both teams finish the season tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 for one combined game on Coleman's home floor against Ashley. This game is not at the family center, so come out and give these girls the HS feel they will experience the next few years.

Our fantastic Jr/Sr High Secretaries- Mrs. Bell (who hasn't learned yet how to retire and is helping train our newest team member- lucky us!), Mrs. Sian (who is not allowed to ever retire), Mrs. Porter (who is always smiling and splits her time between buildings) and Mr. Willard (Athletic Dept. secretary who has been a perfect addition and fits right in with this crew and is great to our kids). Happy Holidays everybody!

The JV and Varsity Lady Comets took on Sacred Heart Academy last night in their home opener. They both keep showing growth against one of the better teams in the league. Jamiya Czarnecki led the JV team in scoring, and Emily VanSickle led the varsity team with 7 points and 10 rebounds. They travel to Breckenridge for a doubleheader tomorrow night.

Just a few of our amazing paraprofessionals the week before Holiday Break- Mrs. Guza, Mrs. Methner, Mrs. Andrews and Mrs. Shuler. #LEADLike A Comet

We have some Culinary students who are practicing on a SkillsUSA project for their first competition in February! One will be showing a skills competition which she will be making and presenting on how to build crepes. The other two shown are working on icing roses as they will be competing in the baking portion of the competition. Good luck, students!

It's Ugly Sweater Day at the Jr/Sr High, but we're pretty sure we saw a few cute ones!

For International Education Week, one of our enchange students, Julia, organized a presentation about her home country, Poland! She presented it to her fellow students, who enjoyed her entertaining lesson. Thanks, Julia!

We found a few fun PJs for Christmas Pajama Day at the Jr/Sr High today!

Mr Liechty's 3rd grade class created marble putt putt challenges using a supply of odds and ends, then took turns trying each other's. You'll have to ask them which was the best.
