The 65th Scholarship Honors Banquet sponsored by the Kiwanis Club recognized the top 10% of graduates in Midland County. Our Top 10% includes Co-Valedictorians Alexis Germain and Kierra Allen, Salutatorian Gabrielle Kroll (not pictured), and Hannah Karl.

Our Culinary at the Depot students went on the road last week and prepared a 3-course meal for folks the Heart of the Mitten Association at Coleman Chapter OES. The group also awarded Jacob Butters, Junior, with a scholarship to go to Culinary School. They will hold the scholarship in an account to earn interest until he graduates.

Agriscience students pose with their FFA certificates after the annual FFA banquet! FFA cultivates Comet connections by encouraging leadership opportunities via student officers, expanding student horizons with each state convention and conference, and by connecting with students from other districts to improve peer relationships. Recently, our Jr/Sr High students suggested a school-wide rock-paper-scissors competition in order to raise staff and student morale . . . and we might have to make it an annual thing! Students and staff cultivated connections all day, building good sportsmanship and prioritizing a positive district culture. Drama Club cultivates more connections than I have time to list! This program brings together students of all ages, builds friendships, improves creativity skills, teaches students about classic stories, encourages leadership, public speaking, teamwork . . . the list goes on! The 3rd grade had the opportunity this year to visit Lansing, and it was an awesome opportunity to cultivate Comet connections! Students learned all about Michigan government, history, and culture, and had a great time doing it.

Mr. B keeps our band class cultivating connections all the time! Between concerts, competitions, marching band, and group trips, band students get to experience several different areas that keep them learning and engaged. This picture is from the end of last year's amazing spring band concert.
