meet ms. nestorak

Welcome to Ms. Sharon Nestorak, who is from Sanford and is our new Food Service Director this school year! Ms. Nestorak has worked for many years at Midland Public Schools and helped to implement many programs and improvements like: "Discovery Kitchen" for students to learn how to regrow and plant scrap food; giving students the choice to sample menu items and vote on what they'd like to see on the menu; Global Eats so students can experience food from ifferent countries - all of which she would like to bring to Coleman. She has also done a great deal of catering and experience in cooking several varieties of food for staff and the community. She also has a great deal of experience with the paperwork side of things in this capacity. Please help her feel welcome!

Here's more we learned about Ms. Nestorak:

Why did you decide to become a Food Services Director?

I’ve been working in the Food Services industry since I was 14 years old. I’ve always loved cooking and working with food (although I could never get the hang of waitressing!)

What drew you to this opportunity?

Actually, my former boss pushed me to apply! She told me this job seemed perfect for me and I felt that Coleman Schools was a great fit for me, personally. It’s been going amazingly so far! My staff work hard and we all get along very well.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like outdoorsy stuff like camping and tubing. At least once every year, my friends and family and I make a whole weekend of tubing on Platte River in Beulah. I also like to experiment with different recipes, especially with Polish and Italian foods. I enjoy cooking at Camp Neyati during the summers, as well.

What's your secret talent?

I’m big into crafting and I especially love to crochet. I’m working on a baby blanket right now!
