A big welcome to one of our newest additions to the Comet family, Ms. Kaleigh Boggs! Ms. Boggs is our new part-time Athletic Secretary. She is also an adjunct business instructor at Mid Michigan College and has been working in Business Administration for many years. She recently mved to Coleman, is from Clare originally, and has a huge love for sports, including coaching soccer. We are so excited to have her with us!
Here's the run-down on our new Athletic Secretary:
Why did you decide to become an athletic secretary?
This role offers a unique opportunity to bring together three areas I’m passionate about - business administration, education, and athletics.
Do you have any prior connection with this school district or community?
I don’t - Coleman as both a school district and a community is still fairly new to me. We moved here this past summer and we’re really looking forward to becoming part of the community.
What drew you to this opportunity?
What drew me to this opportunity was how well it fits with the things I enjoy as well as being part of a school community. I’ve always loved the energy around athletics and education, and this role felt like a great way to be involved in both.
What's a skill or topic you're learning about right now in your personal life?
I’ve recently started teaching Business courses at Mid Michigan College, so I’m actively learning new teaching methods and tools to become a more effective instructor. It’s been a great experience, and I’m really enjoying the challenge of growing in that role.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I am a passionate Detroit Lions fan and season ticket holder, so I spend a lot of time following the team and love attending games. I also enjoy staying active by playing in volleyball, golf, and dart leagues, and I love trail riding in our Ranger. I’m also someone who tends to always have travel plans - I'm always keeping busy!
What adjectives would you use to describe yourself?
Benevolent, outgoing, authentic, and open-minded.
