Effective today, Monday, October 25th, is the attached Order from the Midland County Health Department Director, Mr. Fred Yanoski. We are proud to share that Coleman Schools has already been following all of the originally recommended protocols for COVID-19 with our students and staff. In general, the Order doesn't change much for Coleman Schools. There are just a couple of points that will change: 1) We have to “disseminate, publish and post” the Order and for future reference you can find it on our website on the Homepage under the "COVID-19 Information" button; 2) Per CDC updated recommendations (dated 10-15-21), a vaccinated close contact will test on day 5 to 7 (previously 3 to 5) after exposure and can discontinue mask wearing with a negative test. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. McCormack at the Board Office. The full Health Department Order can be found here: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/1641377/FINAL_Isolation_and_Quarantine_Emergency_Order_10.25.21.pdf

We are fortunate to continue a strong relationship with local law enforcement on many levels, much of that in an effort to be proactive with the goal that many of those measures will never be necessary, but to be prepared if they are. Deputy Brandan Hodges, our School Resource Office, led local police and a SWAT team through the Jr./Sr. High after school hours today. There were no issues and this was a pre-scheduled visit for them to practice. The visit also gave those officers the opportunity to learn our building, the hallways, entries and exits. . We are very fortunate for the close working relationships we have and how they value our students. Thank you!
