Coleman Schools is closed today, Friday, February 25th. A 2-hour delay was considered originally due to visibility currently, the pace of the snow cover the past hour and the fact that it is difficult to see the edges of the road. At this point, however, districts around us have mostly closed. While we want to be back in with our kids today, we hope you can understand the decision.

Coleman Schools will be closed for Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, due to current road conditions, continued rain and temperatures decreasing to the low 20s overnight. We will provide information on Wednesday evening events and practices closer to noon tomorrow. This is in contrast to today. Several of us begin looking at/driving roads, many times the night before, and around 4-5:30 a.m. the morning of school. We are in contact with the County Road Commission on timing of their work, reviewing forecasts and talking with other area personnel and continue to monitor road conditions throughout the day. Temperatures were expected to rise throughout today, but instead began to take a dip just before noon. I want to thank all Coleman families for making adjustments to your schedules earlier this afternoon when students were sent home. We appreciate your understanding and support to best ensure the safety of our students and staff. Have a good evening and be safe if you are out tomorrow.

Congratulations to Shane Gross, Comet Alumni, who has also been working as part of the Coleman Schools' Technology Department since he was junior. Shane is professional, intelligent and knowledgeable in the area of technology. He has brought a sense of urgency to the position while assisting and teaching all of us to benefit students and staff alike. Shane has just accepted a new position in his field of study at Nexteer in Saginaw and we couldn't be prouder of him. Shane, you will be greatly missed on a weekly basis and we are happy we may be able to see you on some projects around here with us from time to time. #Coleman #alumni #technology #engineering #community #ColemanGrad #CometPride
