Happy Volunteer Appreciation Day! Thank you so much to the many individuals that volunteer their time and energy to assist both our staff and students in all kinds of different ways. We appreciate your selfless commitment to the district!

Celebrate Earth Day at the 2022 Earth Action Expo! Join the fun at Dow High School on Sunday, April 24th from 12 to 4 PM. There are nearly 50 exhibitors with all kinds of hands-on environmentally-friendly activities for K-12 students, as well as food trucks! This event is FREE to families.

Today is Secretaries Recognition Day and we have some of the best in Mrs. Lovejoy, Mrs. Sian, Mrs. Sian, Mrs. Bell, Ms. Bressette and Ms. Rogers! If you haven't already, stop by and thank them, give a note or small token of thank you to them.   There is just no way the district would run without these 5 ladies- they ARE the people who run the district. They provide support to families, constantly help each of us and are the people answering a million student questions and needs.  Not only that, but it's the thousands of things behind the scenes no one sees- paperwork, documentation, conversations with other districts and agencies, the scheduling and organizing of every possibly event and how they take initiative and think ahead to what is upcoming to ensure we are prepared.  Thank ladies for your amazing kindness and work ethic!

Today's Sports Updates: The Softball/Baseball games for tonight have been cancelled, and Jr High/6th Grade track will be held in the Jr/Sr High library today.

Mrs. Mutton's fourth grade class had an opportunity to explore Phenomenal Science today! They dug to the Earth’s core discovering fossils, dinosaur bones and fine minerals.

Mrs. Brownlee's class was visited by Mrs. Jardas today! While the class was reading the book Crusty Crusaders - Scabs to the Rescue, one of the students shared that her mom is a wound care expert. She volunteered to come in and share her expertise about how amazing our bodies are and the steps needed to heal from a wound. They also learned that they should not pick scabs, and about why the blood in our veins look blue. Then, she left us some goodies for the next time we have a cut or scrape. Thank you, Mrs. Jardas!

Looking to chaperone a field trip? A background check must be completed and cleared prior to working in the building or serving as a chaperone. These forms are available in the office and the website. Provide a drivers' license or other government photo ID in order for the background check to be processed. Please turn in your form at least 2 weeks before the day of the event you are volunteering/chaperoning for.

Coleman Schools is closed for today, Monday, April 11th, due to a power outage. Buses will still run for Midland ESA programs and the ECSE program at the Family Center. Per the Family Center will run infant-preschool. GSRP is cancelled but those students will still have full day care. Day care is cancelled for school-aged students.

The Midland Conservation District still has some trees left from their annual reforestation sale! They are taking orders through April 15th, so snag some while supplies last. You can order online on their website here: http://www.midlandcd.org/annual-tree-sale.html The Midland Conservation District is very supportive of our Agriscience program; they've donated and planted trees, mentored our pollinator garden, and work closely with Mrs. Zwemmer and Mr. Fischer. NEHS had a pajama drive recently and were able to give the Family Center 49 pairs of pajamas and 18 books. Thank you to everyone for supporting NEHS and their service projects!

Coleman Youth Wrestling had an incredible weekend- 10 kids wrestled at MYWAY Regionals and all 10 kids placed. 9 of them are going on to the State Championship!!! Congratulations!!
