ELEMENTARY PARENTS: Your opinions and feedback are important to us! We are hoping to meet our participation goal for the number of people who have completed this survey, but we're not quite there yet. Please pause for a few minutes to give us your thoughts regarding our implementation of Leader in Me if you haven't already when this was sent earlier. Coleman Elementary is implementing the Leader in Me, which teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. We are currently conducting a survey to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. Please help us by completing the survey at the following link before May 3, 2021: https://www.leaderinme.com/s/coleman-elem-mi/parent

Some of you may have received P-EBT cards from the State for your child who have not received them in the past. This is due to some of the remote learning during this school year and the CEP free lunch/breakfast program we have in the district for elementary this year. At this link you will find some information sent from the State that may answer your questions: https://5il.co/rnn6

We need everyone's help to keep our students safe! Student drop off at the elementary begins at 7:55 AM. Students are to remain in their vehicles until supervisors are available, and those students who are walking should not arrive on school grounds prior to 7:55. The school parking lot is a one way loop from 7:30-8:30 AM and again from 2:30-3:30 PM (and 1:30-2:30 on Wednesday). Please enter the parking lot from Washington St. and exit at Shaffer Rd. To speed up your exit, please form two lanes -- a right turn and a left turn lane turning onto Shaffer Rd. Please drive slowly and cautiously in the parking lot. We appreciate all that you do to keep our students and one another safe!

We're so excited to announce Kindergarten Registration for the Class of 2034! Kindergarten Registration will be on March 18th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. There will be designated times posted soon, based on your child's last name, in order to limit the number of people in the building. At this time, registration will be 1 parent only and no students due to social distancing, but we hope to also hold a time for our incoming Kindergarteners later in the spring to visit classrooms and meet teachers. For March 18th, parents will be able to meet teachers, ask questions and get registration forms filled out and turned in. If you are unable to attend on March 18th, you can register at any time by making an appointment at the elementary office 989.465.6179.

Do you drive your children to school each morning? If so, thank you, and we have a safety request... Please keep your children warm and safe in the car with you until as close to 8:00 AM as possible. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, elementary school doors open at 8:00. Help us keep your children warm and safe by waiting just a few minutes before releasing children from your vehicle. Stay warm out there!

We received a shout-out from a student to their teacher, Mrs. Mutton recently~ "She is so nice to the entire class, she plays with us at recess, she makes us laugh a lot, she does so many fun things since we went back after virtual learning. She gave us a treat during the NWEA test and she is one of my favorite teachers."
