Tradition is so important to many people, especially here in Coleman. That is one of the reasons why the traditional “Mystic Lake” trip is one that students and adults alike look forward to. Again this year the 6th graders enjoyed their two-day experience out in Lake, Michigan.

Students were packed and ready to go Thursday morning, May 11. The classrooms were buzzing with excitement and anticipation of what this year’s trip would bring. Everyone, including teachers Mrs. Klopf and Mrs. Lynch, were excited to get out to camp. Students soon boarded the bus were off!

Once at camp students learned not only that fishing can be fun... especially if it is a competition, but that 6th graders float. All had some very memorable moments to share with future generations.

Many of the parent chaperones that went were Coleman Alumni , happy to share this experience with their own children. Many stories were shared, bringing this class even closer.

Staff and students thank the Coleman Elementary PTO and Coleman Community Schools Administration for allowing tradition to continue. It takes a lot of organizing and planning to pull this off, so many thanks to those that put in the work so the students could have an amazing time. Thank you also to the Mystic Lake YMCA Staff; they made time there worthwhile and memorable!
