mr. rodenbo

A big welcome (back) to one of our newest additions to the Comet family, Mr. Scott Rodenbo! Mr. Rodenbo student taught with Mr. Falor last year and will be returning in the fall as a Social Studies Teacher at the Jr/Sr High School. We are excited to have him with us for his professionalism, connections with students, knowledge of his content area and dedication to Coleman. He is a great asset to the team and is already serving as one of our coaches. Please help Mr. Rodenbo to feel welcome!

Here's more we learned about Mr. Rodenbo:

Why did you choose to become a teacher?

Both of my parents were teachers, so I was exposed to it from a really young age. I also did some tutoring at Mid Michigan College where I really started to get the itch to work with people.

Do you have any prior connection with this school district or community?

My dad actually started his teaching career at Coleman in the mid-nineties! While he didn’t stay long, he always spoke really highly of the district, his co-workers, and Coleman in general. When the opportunity to do my student teaching here came up, I just knew I had to go for it!

What drew you to this opportunity?

Student teaching here gave me the opportunity to work in the school - immediately I liked the kids and liked the community. When a job here opened up at the end of my student teaching, I knew I had to apply. Truly, as soon I started student teaching here I knew I wanted to stay.

What do you like to do in your free time?

If I’m not teaching, I like to work on projects outside like gardening and just being outside in general. I also love spending time with friends and my girlfriend Kameron. We have a cat named Rez.

What adjectives would you use to describe yourself?

Supportive, patient, and funny (although don’t ask my students’ opinions on that last one)

What’s your secret talent?

Cats really like me! Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing - but I’m okay with it.
